I am a Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, The British University in Egypt, a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, Postgraduate Programme Director and Leader of the Drug Research and Development Group (DRD-G) at the Health Research Center of Excellence. My expertise spans translational experimental research, cancer pharmacology, immune-metabolic regulation, drug response modelling and metabolic liver disease.
My research focuses on the tumor microenvironment, MASH-associated hepatocellular carcinoma, triple-negative breast cancer, nuclear receptor signalling and mechanisms of therapy resistance. I am particularly interested in how metabolic, inflammatory and stress-related cues reshape disease progression and therapeutic response, with emphasis on mechanism-driven experimental design and translational relevance.
I have contributed to grant-funded research projects and have experience developing competitive research proposals, from conceptual framing and hypothesis refinement to experimental design, work package development, timeline planning, budget justification and scientific impact statements. I also serve as an ad hoc reviewer for several international biomedical journals and am a member of professional societies including AASLD, EASL, ASPET and BPS.
Alongside my research profile, I have extensive experience in postgraduate education, academic leadership and programme development. I have contributed to the design, revision and quality enhancement of postgraduate programmes, curricula, course specifications and academic documentation, with a focus on research training, analytical skill development and postgraduate research capacity building.
As a consultant on Connect Research, I support researchers, postgraduate students and academic teams in refining research ideas, designing robust experimental studies, strengthening grant proposals, selecting appropriate biomarkers and analytical approaches, interpreting data and developing high-quality manuscripts. I also provide support in statistical analysis planning, GraphPad Prism-based analysis, data visualization and the presentation of scientific findings in a clear, rigorous and publication-ready format.
My consultancy combines scientific depth, international exposure, practical academic leadership and hands-on technical expertise. I support researchers across the full experimental workflow, from study design, animal modelling and in vitro tissue culture to molecular and biochemical assays, Western blotting, gas chromatography-based analysis, data interpretation and publication-ready presentation. My aim is to help researchers build mechanism-driven, statistically sound and visually compelling research outputs with strong translational, publication and funding potential.
